Crystal Whyble, of LaGrange, 28, was charged with the felony of second-degree assault and the misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and the county's Child Advocacy Center had been investigating Whyble's treatment of the child after the latter group was notified that the child was injured Friday, June 26 of this year.
No additional information about the situation was released by police to protect the identity of the child.
Whyble was released on her own recognizance and will be sentenced at the Town of Lagrange Court in November.
